Providing the website

The website is delivered through Cloudflare's network (Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St., San Francisco, CA 94107, USA). When you open a page, Cloudflare processes the technically necessary data of your request: your IP address, the date and time, the address requested, your browser's identifier and the languages your browser prefers. These data are processed to deliver the pages and to protect the website against attacks.

The preferred languages are only evaluated when you open the start address https://healthdati.net/, to send you to the German or English version. The program that delivers the pages keeps no access logs of its own.

The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest is providing the website securely and reliably.

Cloudflare processes these data on our behalf (Art. 28 GDPR). Data may be transferred to the USA in the process. Cloudflare is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, for which the European Commission has found the level of data protection adequate (Art. 45 GDPR).

When you change the language with the language switch, your browser stores the cookie hd_lang with the value de or en. It is only read the next time you open the start address https://healthdati.net/, to take you straight to the chosen language. It contains no other data and is deleted after one year. You can delete it in your browser at any time.

The cookie is only set when you choose the language yourself. The legal basis for storing it is section 25(2) no. 2 of the German TDDDG, because it is strictly necessary for the function you requested; for the processing, it is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

Light or dark display

When you switch between the light and dark display with the toggle, your browser keeps your choice in its local storage (localStorage) under the key healthdati-theme, with the value light or dark. This value stays in your browser and is not sent to us. It remains stored until you delete it in your browser. Without a choice of your own, the display follows your operating system's setting, and nothing is stored.

The legal basis for storing it is section 25(2) no. 2 of the German TDDDG.

Your rights

You have the right of access to the data concerning you (Art. 15 GDPR), to rectification (Art. 16), to erasure (Art. 17), to restriction of processing (Art. 18) and to data portability (Art. 20). You may object to processing based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR on grounds relating to your particular situation (Art. 21). To do so, use the contact details above.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR). The authority responsible for us is the Bavarian State Office for Data Protection Supervision (Bayerisches Landesamt für Datenschutzaufsicht), Promenade 18, 91522 Ansbach, Germany.
